DESCRIPTION

This is the KaizuKo BlueScreen!

Like the call centers of today, in a cyberpunk future there are hacker centers: mom-and-pop sweatshops running virtual hustles ranging from the morally questionable to full-blown data piracy. Underpaid workers are designated a numbered unit that they have to rent daily from the company, running code on it for 12+ hour days in cramped conditions. Lacking a cubicle, the user of this station has chosen to decorate the inside of his rig with magazine clippings and stickers (there's no Dilbert in the future).

Built primarily out of an old projector, I spent a lot of time modifying the outer housing of a miniature CRT screen so that it fit seamlessly into the projector body. The video signal comes from an Amazon Firestick, and the radio antenna are controlled by two servo control knobs located on the front. The servos are built into the existing belt system from the projector's reel arms. In order to make the prop feel like part of a larger world, I repeated certain motifs in the different decals, stickers, and clippings throughout the piece. See if you can figure out what they all mean!
