BLUESCREEN

​This prop was conceptualized as a portable workstation from a dystopian future. Underpaid workers in hacker sweatshops would have to rent these numbered units daily from the company. Additionally the worker renting this unit has chosen to decorate the interior of this unit, much like a present-day office worker might decorate their cubicle.

Built primarily out of an old projector, I spent a lot of time modifying the outer housing of a miniature CRT screen so that it fit seamlessly into the projector body. The video signal comes from an Amazon Firestick, and the radio antenna are controlled by two servo control knobs located on the front. The servos are built into the existing belt system from the projector's reel arms. Finally I covered the piece with decals, graffiti, and magazine clippings before giving it a heavy weathering pass.
